SEMI-CHINA DUTCH-SHAPE WATER JUG No. 215362 transfer "Apple Blossom" BY T. FURNIVAL & SONS, COBRIDGE, ENGLAND (1871-1890) This listing features a beautiful antique water pitcher/jug from Victorian England with clear transfer and incised markings on the bottom. The very large pitcher is made of semi-china with swirls around the body, a band of flowers at the neck, and then swirling continuing on to the scalloped edge. T is a molded attached handle. The lovely, almost modern, feel of the red transfer branches, flowers, and leaves follows the swirl of the body giving the piece a lightness and etal feel. The transfers on the body are red on white while the neck is white on red. The inner edge is banded as the neck and handle with a small chain of flowers. Measurements: The overall height of the pitcher is 11-1/2" and the widest point of the body is approximately 8-1/2" in diameter; The rim opening is 5" in diameter, perfect for an arrangement of silk flowers! Condition: I can spot no chips or crazing; T are two cracks on the inside only of the body (see pix) and one on the outside only of the bottom; T are two small (1/4", 1/8") black marks on the body of unknown origin and the handle top shows about a 1" line of what I guess is water damage (I did little cleaning) ************************************************************* read more
