ANTIQUE REGENT AESOP'S FABLE FOX AND THE ROOSTER FIGURAL CAST METAL NOVELTY SHELF CLOCK - This auction is for a fabulous antique figural cast metal clock that appears to be based on Aesop's fable of the Fox and the Rooster - The figural cast metal, with bronze finish, case is 14" high x 10" wide - The case features the image of the fox dressed in a monks clothes talking to a rooster - The fox and the roosters are in relief in front of a large castle or church building - The detail on the piece is absolutely fabulous - It has (4) horned and bearded characters that look much like "Old Man Winter" that form the feet - In the center of the front and back is an image of a fox head with (2) bunny rabbits on each side of him - It is fitted with a tin can wind up, 30 hour, time only movement made by the Regent Mfg. Company - The paper dial reads: " REGENT MFG. CO., CHICAGO, ILLS." - The back of the cast metal case is stamped to read: "REGENT MFG. CO., CHICAGO, ILLS." - It is fitted with sleek black metal hands and a second bit - It has, what appears to be, it's original hand setter and winding knobs - The overall condition of the piece is excellent with no breaks, splits or missing pieces to the cast piece - T is slight wear to the bronze finish up around the top w it has been picked up to be wound over the years - It gives the piece a fabulous read more
