This beautiful antique Rookwood vase is decorated with lily of the valley flowers and leaves, in an art nouveau style, by artist Sara Sax. Sax joined the decorating staff at Rookwood Pottery in 1896 and worked there until 1931. She is recognized as being being one of the best artists to have worked for Rookwood and she was at the forefront of the art nouveau, art deco and arts and crafts movements at Rookwood. Her work is highly prized and sought after by collectors. The vase measures 6.75" tall. It has the distinctive Rookwood mark on the bottom and initials of Sara Sax. It also have a number that looks like 904S. This gorgeous vase is in excellent condition. It has overall crazing, normal of this type of glaze over time. Rookwood collectors and art lovers are sure to want this one in their collection.
