THE ITEM's DESCRIPTION: *RARE* Antique ROSE CUT Genuine RED GARNET GEMSTONE Fancy DRESS or SHOE CLIPS - Early 20th CenturyThe pair of clips measure approximately 1 1/2" X 1 1/8". each clip is set with a large number of round rose cut genuine red garnet gemstones. The clips are triple tiered. The body of the clips are made from gold tone metal(possibly a very low karat gold known as "garnet gold" commonly used in Bohemian garnet jewelry & accessories of the period). The clip backs are made from what appears to be gold-plated metal. The clips may possibly have been links in a large antique necklace that were made into clips at the turn of the century when clips were starting to gain popularity in lady's fashion.EXCELLENT overall antique condition. The pair of clips weigh approximately 19.45 grams.
