The roll top and the drawers work very well. Unique overall locking mechanism: when the roll top is down, the drawers lock, when the roll top is up, the drawers open. The keyed lock to the roll top is missing, you can have it replaced or not. The desk features wood drawer handles and wood dividers and large file drawer. Dovetail construction on front and back of drawers. Inside the desk is a full cubby hole area with 2 storage drawers. Great attention to detail and large writing area! Beautifully restored in the past, overall finish in very good condition. The back is finished and very pretty too. The overall structure features paneled sides and back. Great antique item, ready for immediate use! Condition: Overall very good condition. Restored finish. Each side in back of pedastal desk area has an age split, they do not effect the overall sturdy structure.
