antique sack back windsor chair circa 1800 super rare piece. authentic handmade sack back windsor chair from maine. original flat black milk paint. fine hand turned spindles. steam bent ash/oak back hoop back. slender spindles appear to be ash or oak. seat appears to be pine or tulip poplar. legs are splayed at angles fore-and-aft (rake) s well as side-to-side (splay). ornate arm rests. hand carved seat with decorative engraving circling the seat. measures 16" from floor to seat. the seat measures 21" across and 14" front to back. seat back measures 19.25" high. 20.25" arm rest to arm rest as the crow flies.
