An important and highly personal, piece of local Scottish domestic history . A marriage teapot given to the recipient by the staff of Glencairn School in Kilmarnock in April 1915 . Inscription reads: PRESENTED TO MISS MAGGIE M.CROOKS BY THE STAFF OF GLENCAIRN SCHOOL, KILMARNOCK ON THE OCCASION OF HER MARRIAGE APRIL 1915 The item is as seen and in generally good condition with normal signs of wear commensurate with its age. The handle of the lid is slightly loose, although this could easily be remedied by a tighter fitting nut. The teapot has not been used for practical purposes in recent memory, instead being used as an elegant ornament . The item is stamped as having been made by local silversmith - Cameron, of Kilmarnock. An elegant piece of domestic Scottish history, which will add grace to any home... No reserve.
