These pewter measures were bought in Holland and probably originated from there. The mark on the bottom, a flying angel blowing a horn, is a common theme in the pewter hallmarks of Holland. The larger piece also has the initials "BD" with the mark. The set consists of "1 Centiliter" which is 3 1/8" tall by 1 3/4" in diameter and the handle projects out by an additional inch; "2 Centiliter" at 2 1/4" tall by 1 1/2" in diameter and the handle adds 3/4"; the "1/2 Deciliter" is 2" tall by 1 1/8" in diameter and the handle adds 5/8" to the width. All three are marked with their measure on the handle and all the bodies have several inspector marks. These marks were made in the 18 and 19th century by the “Measure Master” which every town had. The job of the Measure Master was to go to all the taverns and merchants and control their measures so that the populace would receive a true measure and not some altered (i.e. less) version. All three have a nice dark gray patina and are at least 100 years old. The 2 Centiliter one has some small dents on the front which can be seen in the pictures. The other two are in very good condition. Total weight of the set is 9 ounces. No reserve! Very Fast Handling!
