For your consideration is this beautiful antique shell cameo. Cameo depicts the Madonna (Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus). Cameo is circa 1880's. Measures 1 1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide. Cameo sits in a pretty filigree gold frame. I'm unable to test the frame so I do not know how many Karats it is. It looks like the pin back is bent, but it is not. It has writing on it that is unreadable. Cameo also has a bale so can be attached to a chain and worn as a necklace. This beautiful hand carved shell cameo is in excellent condition.
