This is a ship's compass made by Fred Moore & Co, Liverpool. (Can't find them but anyone who knows of them or about this item please email me). It looks in very good condition to some similar I have seen for sale and tried to show it as clearly as possible. You can see the liquid is sealed and present and the compass face is quite reasonable and the glass is good. There is an aperture in the side which might have contained an oil lamp attachment otherwise complete and sound. It measures about 10" high and 8" diameter and weighs 3.8kilos (about 8lb).
