This is an old Chinese hand painted scroll I got from the family of a woman who was a missionary in China in the thirties. She returned to the United States in the forties and brought all of her treasures with her. This scroll pictures a gorgeous horizontal landscape . It pictures bamboo, mountains, waterfall, a bridge and so much more. It is masterfully painted and is so beautiful. The scroll has creases due to the age of the piece and the harder material that backs the piece. See pictures. It is signed in red . it is very absolutely done by a true artist and is so lovely. This is one I would love to know who painted it, its age and what it says. If you know, would you please share this information with me. Soon it will find a new home and I would just like to know it a bit more before it leaves my home. I thank you for that. I have many scrolls and I am selling a few of them because I had to borrow the money to buy them. I need to sell a few to pay the money back and another bill so my debt is your gain.
