ANTIQUE SILVER FILIGREE GALLEONSHIP SCULPTURE ~ PORTUGAL ~ ENAMEL I have been a dealer of antiques for over 30 years and am now starting to sell items from my personal collection. This is a finely made silver galleon ship on stand. The Portuguese are famous for their filigree work and this one is exceptional. The detail and workmanship are amazing. I am 99% certain that this is sterling silver, although it isn’t marked, since the Portuguese are famous for their fine sterling filigree work. This piece might have been gold gilded in its day but, if so, that has been worn off. There is enameling on the flags on the masts – a bit of loss on parts. It hasn’t been cleaned in many, many years so it needs a good polishing. This work of art will add elegance and charm to any space. Authenticity Guaranteed – this is NOT A REPRODUCTION!! CONDITION : Wonderful condition. No breaks, dents, cracks or repairs. Could use a good cleaning. Appears to have a bit of loss on the enameling.
