A beautiful Victorian figural napkin ring of a dog pulling a sled, t appears to be 2 different metals with the main part being silverplate and the dog's harness and chain being a gold color, possibly brass, but I'm not sure. The base of the ring is marked Meriden Co., quadruple silverplate, and has the number 285 stamped on the bottom. I believe the age to be somew around the late 1800's or early 1900's. The ring measures a 3 ½ " in length at the base and is about 2 ¼ " high, the piece looks to be in excellent condition, with no dents or damage, the only thing I can see is a slight separation of the chain from the tip of the sled on one side, I have done a close up photo of this, and as you can see it is barely noticeable. T is very nice engraved detailed work around the edge of the ring portion as well nice detail work in the dog figure, also has very nice detail work in the sled supporting the ring itself. Would make a nice addition to your napkin ring collection or to your Victorian dinner table. Thank you for looking and for your interest.
