This auction is for an old fan made by the Carleton Company of Boston, Mass. It is a small size and stands about 11 inches tall. The cage has a diameter of about 9 1/2". I think it has nickel plated brass blades and a round ball shaped motor. The tag states that ir runs on AC or DC. 110 volts. the amps is not filled out and the rpms are 1800. It is in kind of rough shape, but I think it would make a good restoration project. The cage is slightly out of shape. The felt on the bottom is almost completely gone. It feels like the switch has three position, but only the last one makes it run. It runs very slow and you can see sparking on the commutator when it runs. The brushes are still pretty long and look ok. I'm not sure how to use the two adjustments under the motor shaft, but the motor runs better when you tip the entire fan forward. It looks like it has it's original cord. It weighs about 5 lbs. so keep shipping charges in mind when bidding!
