Nice old APOTHECARY or DRUGGIST BOTTLE / JAR.Square clear glass bottle stands about 7” tall (not including the stopper) and is 3” across at the base. It is 8-1/2” tall with the stopper. Glass is old - has a bubble or two in the glass itself. Base of the bottle is embossed S. K. & F. Co. Early Smith Kline & French Co. bottle. I believe it was made in the 1890sStopper is about 3” from top to bottom. It has a fancy swirled design....I guess it could be considered “tufted pin cushion” inspired since it sorta looks like that.Interesting bottle/jar. I don’t know anything about apothecary jars. I found this in a box of old glassware that I purchased at an estate sale in Lancaster County, Pa. it has the stopper that was in the bottle when I found it in the box. I assume it’s the original stopper but I don’t know for sure. Bottle has a chip on the underside of the top rim. The stopper has no chips or cracks.Nice apothecary item. It displays well and makes a nice presentation. Check out the pics as they are part of the description.Hope someone can add it to a collection.
