Rare find. Antique advertising silverplate miniature replica of an order pad holder with Faust Columbus Circle in raised letters on back. This we believe this is a miniature order pad holder that was used in Faust Restaurant at Columbus Circle in New York City and sold or given to patrons as a souvineer. There is a pencil as a clasp holding the case closed and opens to what must have held a pad of paper for writing orders. The pendant's overall measurement is 2.5" long including loop and 1 1/8" wide. This is in great vintage condition. The spring holding it shut is intact. Faust Restaurant in New York City at Columbus Circle, 59th & Broadway opened in 1908 and closed in 1915 or 1916 a casualty of Prohibition. Faust restaurant in NYC is related to the one in St Louis which also had a beer named after it "Faust Beer" made for them by Anheuser brewery. (from what we have read).
