Antique Sowerby / Beaumont Blue Opalescent 9" Vase PIASA BIRD I am pleased to offer this lovely 9" tall blue opalescent vase . There is dispute over the manufacturer: some sources contribute it to Sowerby, some to Beaumont, and yet others to Jefferson. The date of production is also uncertain with some saying late 1890s and others early 1900s. William Heacock gave it its pattern name. He named it after a legendary Native American creature, the Piasa Bird, because of the resemblence to the "face" seen on the vase. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. Vintage glass may show characteristic of age, including base wear, bubbles, pattern irregularities, straw (sheer) marks, or mold marks and roughness. Pieces may show signs of gentle use. 1203C2 ********************************************************** GPSA Member Glass & Pottery Sellers' Association ************************************ Payment is expected within 3 days.
