Up for auction is a 1949 Sparton antique tube radio model 141A in a dark mahogany cabinet with large grill opening and lower slide rule dial. This is an 8 tube AM/FM radio with internal loop antenna and four rotary controls for on/off/volume, tone, band switch and tuning. Radio was fully recapped, tubes tested and replaced as needed. New dial light was installed. Chassis was cleaned and controls lubricated. AM reception is good. FM band does not work. Cabinet was treated with Finish Restorer and coated with multiple layers of clear lacquer. There are some dings, scratches, small veneer chips and a "mystery" hole on one side (see pictures). There is a small crack in dial cover. All knobs are present and operate properly. Paper stickers are present.
