Here is a very detailed antique spelter statue measuring 12" tall. The figure is a hunter with his rifle over his shoulder and his hunting bag at his hip. There's a bird, maybe a grouse or quail, fastened to his gun barrel and the style of his dress looks to be French, late 1700's or early 1800's. He looks like he's waving to greet someone, maybe to show off his luck hunting. The statue has the original bronzed finish, which does have some wear, as is typical (see picture). The base is turned wood with a faux marble painted finish. There's blue material on the bottom that I doubt is original. As to condition, he's very nice except for the stress crack on the back of his raised right arm (see pictures). The crack doesn't weaken the integrity of the arm and isn't noticeable from the front. There's another gap in the casting where the gentleman's coat ends (see picture), but it was made like that and it's not damage. This is a really neat statue to display with your Victorian furnishings or if you're a hunter. It could also be used as a clock garniture or side statue to compliment a French clock. Starting bid is $9.99 with no reserve and shipping is calculated for your zip code. Thanks for looking!
