This is a beautiful piano dating back to around 1836. I have dated it from the serial number of 45765, which Broadwood state was used between 1836 and 1840. As Victoria came to the throne in 1870 and the nameplate is as supplier to HIS majesty, that makes it 1835 - 1837. As the serial number is just 485 above the start of Broadwood's range, I am pretty sure it is 1835! (They were making 2500 a year by 1842). Everything seems to work, although I am by no means an expert! I can see some of the leading edge to the top board is missing right and left and also that it has no dropboard. On closer inspection one or two strings (wires) have come off, but most notes work. It measures 1728 mm wide by 675 mm deep by 860 mm high (5' 8" by 2' 2.5" by 2' 7.8") and is just 6 octaves (78 keys). The tuner key is also present. I am happy to answer questions and take photos as required, but please ask (or come to view in Lytham ) if there is anything you need to know before you bid. Whilst I would happily ship this item, I believe it is too fragile and would not be responsible for any damage, so personal collection from Lytham in Lancashire only is recommended. anything else will be at your own risk! On 16/7/15 I have uploaded some new photos which will now hopefully show all that is needed, but please ask if you require any more information.
