4/40 - sterling silver souvenir spoon 5 7/8 " length. 31 grams weight -- Applied figure of Father Marquette on the handle of the spoon. The stem is embossed "Father Marquette". The inside of the bowl has an embossed scene of Indians in the woods looking out to see the approaching boat of Father Marquette. The back of the spoon is plain except for "sterling" and "D" (Durgin) and "Pat. apd. for Geo. N. Conklin Marquette". This spoon is in excellent condition with no apparent flaws other than those that may be associated with an antique of this age .
