Sterling Silver Owl Mechanical Pencil This is a little GEM! Antique sterling silver owl that expands to reveal it's also a mechanical pencil. Probably was to attach to a ladies chatelaine, or maybe a watch chain. Measures just 1 3/8" with a 1/4" circle link on top, then pull out the top and bottom, and it measures 2 1/2". Excellent detail of feathers, face and feet-amazing for such a little piece. Has glass? eyes that are a purple/red. Marked STERLING on the pull-out top piece. Also has a Hallmark, but can't quite tell what it is. Give it a downward shake to extend the bottom piece. This pulls all the way out so the lead can be inserted. Think this is kind of a rare find. It certainly is unique, and very finely made. / /
