Lovely for Derby days, hot sweltering nights and a mint julep or a frosty mojito, these sterling stra drinking spoons are the elegant way to imbibe icy drinks without pouring ice and crushed mint down the front of your boiled tux shirt or that swishy little vintage chiffon cocktail frock you just squandered the electric bill money on! Set of 11 with the spoon bowl in the shape of a grape leaf and carved graped w the bowl meets the straw. Just shy of 9" long, these are marked Mexico DF, 925 sterling, and the initials 'MG' on the reverse. They are from the late 30's or early 40's when gambling was legal down towards Ensenada, and the movie people used to escape for hedonistic weekends of cold drinks, lobster barbeques on the beach, dancing till dawn on the raised dance floor, a little betting, a few hands of cards---a run at the roulette wheel. A bygone era to be sure, but you can relive a tinge of the decadence without that tedious border crossing. Better yet, gather some friends for Derby Day, wear big hats, place a few friendly wagers, and serve mint juleps with these elegant straws. The smaller box is placed in a bigger box with a buffer of peanuts all around. Textiles are put in a plastic bag and placed in a padded mailer. Jewelry goes in a cotton lined box with a padded mailer. I don't know about your area, but these packing materials cost me money, and guess what? YOU get to pay for it! I rarely ship in used containers unless they are pristine. And fer Pete's sake, qwitcherbichen' about how you won something for say, $60, shipping is $30, and at any antique mall/flea market/estate sale, you'd have to pay double that for your item. Count the cost of shipping as part of the cost of the item.If the shipping estimate is too low by less than a buck, I'll pay it---otherwise, I'll ask for the extra money. I try very hard to cover my cost of selling, make the item no reserve so whomever wants to bid on it can do so, and keep the shipping fees reasonable.Yes, I combine shipping, just let me know you're bidding on multiple items.Yes, I ship internationally.
