Frankly, this is a mystery. It was represented to us as an artifact from sub-Saharan travel but its length and design are puzzling. It is of bayonet length with Damascus steel under quite a bit of dirt and rust, bone grip (could be antler, but we don't think so), and unusually textured pommel and cap. No scabbard or sheath, no maker's mark, but it was clearly made by hand. We await your edification. In the meantime, it is offered here WITHOUT RESERVE which means someone will win without a doubt.
