here is a sword letter opener it looks to be an exact replica of an american civil war swordits in very nice condition for its age- it is marked germany on the blade next to the felt on the guard and it has the makers mark on the other side of the bladeit looks like a beehive with a pointy top with a few letters thati can barely make out blade has no dents or dings-- the sword itsself is9 inches long-- the completelength of the sword in the scabbard is a bit over 9 and three quarters inches--the scabbard has its origional tassle-- the scabbard has no dents or dings-- this looks to be a very old letter opener and of high quality -- very neat and unusual
