This diminutive Figural Ink Stand was a lucky find. Quite rare now to come across a 19thC Tennis Collectible of this quality. Note the Flat Top Racket. This fellow is pictured as part of a napkin ring & trophy finial on pages 138-39 of Jeanne Cherry's "Tennis Antiques & Collectibles". It was made by Rogers Smith & Co. of New Haven, CT. c1890. It is in excellent condition aside from the fact that the plating has long been polished off. It now has the look of pewter. There is a shallow crack near the top of the cut glass well, on the inside only. There is a pen rest meant for a small dip pen. The height is 4" & the width is 3.75". Please click on photos to enlarge for a better look. Insured & tracked shipping within North America is approx. as stated above. Much more to overseas. Canadians will pay applicable taxes.
