A very nice Taylor Brothers, of Rochester, N.Y., Chandelier Thermometer. It is 8 inches from the top of the ring to the bottom on the finial with the original chain. This would have been hung from the dining room chandelier so everyone could see what the room temperature was. It is original patina brass that has not been buffed up to look like new. The temperature plates are black oxide with white lettering-which is crisp and very readable. On one plate is the date of the Patent which was January 12, 1887 and the opposing plate has Taylor Brothers Rochester N. Y. The thermometer fluid is Taylor Brothers patented Permacolor. It is almost 133 years old and this thermometer is still accurate. The copy of the original advertising that came with the thermometer will be included (but not the plastic stand). A history of Taylor Brothers will be included with this thermometer. This thermometer is w onderful old piece of history. Please check out the other items I have listed. All questions are welcome and answered promptly.
