AuctionsMadeEZ Estate Item- This auction is for a fantastic Antique Table Top Edison Model B-19 "Chalet" Diamond Disc Phonograph.In 1919, Edison introduced a new table phonograph called the Chalet. This newer model gave the performance expected of an Edison product. The cabinet of the Chalet was make of Gumwood stained to look like mahogany. This was the only Gumwood phonograph produced by Edison (/EdisonChalet.htm). This type of Edison Phonograph is VERY RARE to find today. This piece is a beautiful find! The top lid has bubbled shellac and what appears to be loosened veneer and does have an area of damage noted (see pictures). The base appears to be in great condition with little wear noted. Item does NOT play. We cranked it, but the spring coil appears not to hold tension for very long to allow it to play. Original screws are missing (we will place temporary screws in to hold it in place for shipping). All inside parts (with the exception of the screws) appear to be ALL ORIGINAL (needs a thorough cleaning). Item has brass plate on inside that reads "Trademark, Thomas A. Edison, Edison Disc Phonograph, Patented Nov. 17, 1903.Jan 30, 1906.Feb 4, 1908.March 17, 1913.Sept 15, 1914.May 23, 1916.B 19, SM---3224, Thomas A. Edison Inc. Orange, N.J. U.S.A."
