This is a beautiful antique Toledo Automatic scale. It features the No Springs system. The scale dial itself reads up to 500 pounds, but with the help of the riders it will weigh up to 1000 pounds. This scale does work, and will measure within a 10 pound accuracy. I'm sure with some tinkering and fine tuning it would weigh items perfectly. As you can see in most of the pictures the scale does not have the glass and rim attached to the front or the plate that covers the inner workings of this scale, but I do have them and they are included in this purchase. All that is needed are some screws to remount these two parts. You can see both of these pieces are included in the pictures that were taken outdoors. This scale is a beautiful black in color and has a good rusty patina to it, which gives it that great old antique look. The only thing this great scale would need are screws to attach the rim/glass and metal cover. Also, the glass is not original. It has been replaced with plexi glass, which is in okay shape but it does have some cracks around the edges. The Style/Model of this scale is 821-C Made from Factory # 241141 (I believe this is the correct #, however the first digit from the info. tag is somewhat difficult to read) This is a great find for a collector or a unique decorative piece.
