Up for auction is one of nineteen different antique topographical maps I will be listing in the next day or so. This antique map was made by the United States Department of the Interior, geological survey of The California Mariposa Quadrangle. This map is the Edition of 1912, reprinted in 1938. The corner of the map reads, "R. B. Marshall, Chief Geographer..........Surveyed in 1909 and 1910. This map measures 20" x 16.5". It is presented for your consideration exactly as I found it......it was stored for many years together with the others, in a gentle fold, so t is a bit of a bend in the center. No creases, just a gentle bend. The edges are yellowed with age. I see no tears. T are a few very tiny holes near the left margin. No markings other than a man's name written in ink in small print along the top, on every map. A legend on the back of the map explains the use of all of the symbols used. All of the topographical maps I am listing are of areas in California. This is a great item to have framed, particularly if you live in one of the areas or have an interest in antique maps. I'm even thinking perhaps a hiker or off-roader may find this map useful when planning a trip. T is no reserve price. All of my items come from a pet and smoke free environment.
