Presenting a rare Tramp Art, wood 'Clover' frame, containing a Cigar silk of a Native American. The carved, and painted, wooden frame, is comprised of ric-rac sections, forming a Clover, or Spade (playing card symbol). It contains a small 2 1/2" X 2" 'Cigar' silk of a Native American Chief. The silk reads 'Agate Arrow Point'. There is a painted red section, and has gold painted edges. One of the sections is missing on the stem, was that way when purchased, and not noticeable. It measures approximately 7 1/2", at the widest. Weight is 167.4 grams. The frame has its original wooden back, and a secure old hook for hanging. Strong and solid, with no loose pieces. Really nice condition, with a beautiful aged patina. The frame was purchased from 'Time Out Antiques', in N.Y.C. in in 1978 - the first Antique Prop House in N.Y., and was for rent for movies or photos. Part of my personal collection.
