This is a beautiful antique Turkish table cover of silk. It is approximately 36.5 inches square with 3 tassels on the ends. The cream silk background is in very bad shape and is shattered horizontally all over. It is torn at the top and just under the bottom of the center circle.It is still attached to the lining which appears to be a cotton or linen with metallic fine long threads sewn through, the metal is subtle and I noticed it as the light hit it. The threads make the pattern look a bit like herring bone and gray on cream . The embroidery in cinnamon, pink, mustard,olive, gray,and gold metal threads is still stunning. I tried to show some of the several stitches done with the gold metallic thread which is a beautiful shiny gold color. It may look good behind glass that may help stabilize the damage. Someone put a lot of time creating this wonderful piece.
