ANTIQUE LEATHER BOSTON BAG Found this unusual bag at an Estate Sale The family said it belonged to their great grandfather who traveled a lot by train and coach, and apparently the numbers were painted on the bag to easily identify one's bag as these bags were very common back then Made of Genuine Cowhide Very worn from age Not sure if the hinges are brass or some other metal Leather handle Four metal stud feet Roomy interior with four pockets Fleur de lis symbol on the inside metal button Looks like some type of makers mark stamped into the leather as seen in photograph #9 but cannot make out what it is.
