Since ancient times one of the most important article of Uzbek traditional national clothes is a Chapan Robe. The chapan has a very special value in life, traditions and culture of Uzbek people. It was and still is very popular among Uzbek folk of any age. Uzbek traditional chapan robe is very nice and celebratory. All Uzbek people wear chapans on special occasions and holidays (birthdays, weddings, other days important for family). T is a variety of fabrics, patterns and designes of Uzbek chapans. However each one article is a unique sample of Uzbek traditional clothes. This one item is an antique Uzbek pure silk chapan robe from Samarkand. It is made of pure silk fabric called "shoi". The age of the item is the early 20th century.
