Exquisite antique 19th century Victorian solid 14K yellow gold brooch beautifully bezel set with a wonderfully intricate natural rich salmon coral gem. The gorgeous coral has been hollowed out in back so that the reticulated fine carving would show to perfection. The hand carved lovely floral bouquet is superb. Coral is smooth and glossy with no imperfections or damage. Hand wired in a double row on either side of the coral are lustrous, delicate natural seed pearls. All are present and pristine. Rare for such old pearls. The gold has developed a very rich, deep color from age. The filigree work is very unique with swirls, vines and rosettes. No damage or loss to any of this filigree. Brooch is quite heavy weighing 14.4 grams. Almost all this weight is from the actual 14K gold as the coral is reticulated and the tiny seed pearls weigh very little. Measures approximately 1 3/4" X 1". Brooch has a high quality locking C-Clasp closure which works perfectly and is very secure. It is stamped 14K. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
