Fantastic Antique Maori Face. Absolutely fantastic design in cast brass of a Maori male with face markings, known as Tā moko. The grooves to the skin have been excellently & intricately detailed. (please see pics.) The striking features have been well modelled & it is a very attractive piece. (please see pics.) Excellent design with a good original colour & tone. On the reverse is the Registration Number of 2799, which I believe dates this to 1884. There is also another impressed set of numbers, which are hard to discern, but may be 74850. (please see pic.# 2) 3.5 inches tall x 2 inches wide (8cm tall x 5cm tall) ANTIQUE & USED CONDITION Totally original & fresh to the market. No breaks, or cracks. Antique, used & pre-owned, so some light signs of age & use only. (please see pics.) To the reverse is some old solder to the bottom edge, where I believe someone has attached this face to something, but I have listed this item anyway, as I think it is really wonderful. (please see pic. #3) Some small remnants of polish in places, but totally original & as I found it. (please see pics.) Otherwise it is good throughout & displays extremely well.
