Victorian Child's Sled Paris Mfg, Maine Estate find, this is a lovely Victorian Style Child's sled. The sled has wood runners that curve up and around in the front. On top of the sled platform is a wood seat that has an padded upholstered back and sides with nice button detail. The wood sides have a nice curved detail and a natural wood bottom. Attached to the back is a wood handle for pushing the sled like a stroller or carriage. The sled is marked on the bottom "Made by Paris Mfg, Co. South Paris, ME, U.S.A." The sled is in good antique condition. there is some wear and fading to the upholstery with a small hole on one side, the paint finish on the wood is worn as you can see in the pictures and there is some wear to the edge of the wood along the top edge. I also see a fine crack in the wood where the handle is attached to the back - it does not appear to affect the structure. Still the sled is in good condition for it's age, it could be touched up or left as is. The sled measures 51" long from the back handle to the front runners, it is 17.5" wide, the runners are 39" long, the height of the sled is 24", and 39" to the top of the handle.
