This is beautiful antique sterling silver Victorian or Edwardian circa 1900 scottish agate bracelet. I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found. The Scottish gemstones chosen for this piece are all lovely classic Scottish stones. They are beautiful brown and white agates from Scurdie Ness and carnelian agates from near Cupar in Fife and a speckled cream agate from near Luthrie also in Fife. The bracelet is made of sterling silver and although not hallmarked which is fairly normal for pieces from this period, has been fully tested and is sterling silver. The length is 19.0 cm ( seven and a half inches ) and the heart shaped padlock clasp is in good working condition but not original as it has a full set of hallmarks for 1991. The width of the bracelet is 1.5 cm at it's widest point.
