This is so the auction won't end on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!! *** This auction is for a wonderful pair of late Victorian era seed pearl earrings. The wee, round earring face has a fabulous design embossed with ornate swags that create a fancy center cross. Snowy white enamel decorates the edge and a unique "spatterware" or "graniteware" blue enamel embellishes the cross. The heart of the earring glows with a tiny seed pearl. These genuine gems measure 1.5mm each and have a creamy white color with a deep luster. The earring face is gilded brass, the vintage style ear wires are solid 14k yellow gold. We so love these enamels...could the person who made these wonderful little works of art have ever realized that we would still be coveting them all these years later? Perhaps not, because they were made circa 1890 as buttons. Buttons for an wonderful gown or your very best kid gloves, but buttons none the less.
