Antique VICTORIAN GLOVE BOX Curved Fruitwood BEAUTY! Not much doubt about the original purpose of this lovely piece. With original Lettering atop "Gloves", it's got matching striping decoration that extends down its front and back. Note the curve on the top front and back - a nice feature - as is the Walnut Key Surround. We don't have a key for it, but it's unlocked anyway. Nearly 11" in length, 4" wide, 3.5" in height. These were often mounted atop ladies dressers, and this has 3 mounting holes in the base w that was the case. Just a super piece - wood looks like Fruitwood or Cherry, and the box is in great condition with original paper lining inside. Circa 1870s or 1880s.
