Antique Victorian Hallmark Sterling Silver Sovereign Holder Watch Chain Fob 1900 Antique hallmarked sterling silver sovereign holder watch chain fob, measures approximately 6.3 cm (2&1/16 inches) long without measuring the post and ringlet x 3.2 cm (1&1/4 inches) x 1.7 (5/8 inch). The case is decorated front and back with a scroll work and on the front to centre with a round plain medallion. Hallmarked on the underside of the hinged top with makers initials "H&A." in a rectangular shape, Birmingham anchor, lion, and date letter "a" (1900). This maker's mark is for Horton & Allday, Warstone Lane, Birmingham (1888-1933). Also hallmarked on both of the horseshoe shaped top clips above the spring loaded sovereign and half sovereign holders with a lion and date letter "a". Also a lion mark on the ringlet. Genuine antique, old, worn, and used, good sound condition, no cracks, and no holes; some very small dents and needs proper clean. The clasp closes very tight and needs some small adjustment to make it easier to open.Shipping quoted above is for residents of the United Kingdom only.
