I must admit this type of item is totally foreign to me. An oil painting which I believe was painted on a thin sheet of metal and set in a highly ornate double-frame which is hinged. The item was purchased at an estate auction where it was identified as a Victorian era mailbox.Well, I took the bait, but any mail dropped into the opening in its top would soon fall through the gap at its bottom.So, we must ask that you please use your best judgement on this one.Both the larger and the smaller frames are skillfully carved, each with a different ornate pattern.The outer frame measures 14 3/4" x 19", and captured on the black background of the painting are vibrantly colorful yellow roses.For secure shipping, the suspension hardware will be removed prior to packaging.There is some age-related wear to both frames, and we ask that you utilize the Zoom feature for a close-up viewing.
