Antique Victorian ornate gold frame Gesso3 Victorian women in white This beautiful gold frame is 17 1/4" x 14 1/4" in size. When laid on its back, it is about 2 1/4" deep. T is some cracking or splitting in the ornate parts (see picture) and some separation of the corner pieces. It seems that in the top left corner t is a small piece of the ornate part missing. T is also a 3/4" piece missing on the bottom left corner. (** In the full picture it looks like t is a section on the side that is missing, but t isn't. It's just the way the picture took. The side is straight and normal. **) T is some chipping to the gold in the back of the frame. It looks like some type of "plaster" was put over the edges of the wood before it was painted gold because you can see the white layer in between the two. Overall the frame is in good condition for its age. T are nails showing in the back and the back is covered with brown paper and t is a wire hanger. It looks like this may have been replaced as the eye hooks look newer. The picture in the center is outlined in green velvet and gold, and covered by what appears to be glass. It is a print of 3 Victorian women dressed in white with a large gold framed picture behind them on the wall. This section may have been added later to the old frame.
