ANTIQUE, VICTORIAN, PIN CUSHION, ALL HANDMADE, GLASS BEADS, NO MACHINE SEWING!!: My SIX photos should give you an excellent idea, as to the appearance, and the overall physical condition of this antique, Victorian era, handmade pin cushion, decorated with glass beads. I picked up this handmade pin cushion at a Vermont estate auction thirty or forty years ago. The auctioneer claimed the pin cushion had been made by one of the property owner's great grandmother, well before the year 1900. All the stitching on this handmade pin cushion appears to have been made with a needle and thread, not a sewing machine! The clear beads are made out of glass. The red material covering the center of this pin cushion, must be some kind of wool based fabric, because the white spots in my photos are actually moth holes in the red fabric!?! Note, too, my Arrows "A", pointing to a damaged area on the side of this handmade, antique pin cushion, where about two loops of glass beads are missing from the outside edge of this pin cushion. If one is looking for perfection, anyone handy with a needle, thread, and clear white glass beads, could easily repair this damaged area on this antique, Victorian era, handmade pin cushion.
