Take a trip through the Bazaar and see if any of our one of a kind items have found their new one of a kind owners :) This listing is for an Antique Victorian Burgundy Leather Photo Alblum Including 56 Carte de Visite Photos This Victorian leather photo album has certainly been through the wars, but is still a fascinating item. The burgundy red leather album cover has a front decorated with a raised double black line border with gilded inner border and detailed gilded central oval. The spine is decorated with more incised black detailed work and the rear cover has the black double border. Inside it has 90 arched apertures designed to hold Carte de Visite photos. There are two slots per page, each taking the from of a rounded arch with gilded borders. The album contains 56 carte de visite photos of men, women and children. It is a very interesting collection highlights of which include. A man with a very full chin beard A very pretty young woman with fancy hair style and a large locket 2 photos of a woman with a fantastic detailed Whitby Jet necklace A young child in a white dress with tartan ribbon waistband A woman in a very fancy mouring dress with mourningn locket and facetted jet beads. A woman in a very fancy dress with tassles on the bodice A husband a wife couple - the wife wearing a fabulous dress. A young man with a mortar board in his lap A woman in a dress with a huge bustle A young boy A family group with husband, wife and three small children. A young man with a very cute white terrier dog A man with a large droopy moustache A man with fabulous beard and hair An older woman in a huge dress with a bonnet A large, possibly pregnant young lady A pretty young woman with a fancy hairdo in a fake balcony setting, holding a fabulous hat. A copy of a painting should a woman in Welsh national dress - Titled Jenny Jones A very distinguished looking elderly gentleman As I said, the album has been through the wars, so here is a full condition report. FRONT COVER - In good condition. Very minor rubbing but no leather loss. Gilding in very good condition. SPINE - Very minor rubbing to the top and bottom and very slight sun fading to the leather. The inside part of the spine has seperated from the pages leaving them feeling loose, but still firmly attached. REAR COVER - Very minor rubbing but no leather loss. CATCH - Top part attached to the cover. Bottom part and clasp missing. LINING - Internal shot silk style lining pages at the beginning and end of the album are in place but are both grubby. PAGES - Page ends darkened, and overall tanned with age. APERTURES - 66 apertures are damaged / torn PHOTOS - The majority are in very good condition. 9 are underexposed / faded and 5 are speckled.
