This is a very ornate tea caddy that is quintessential Victorian in its' intricate decorative design. The wood box was has a painted-grain finish and is embellished with scroll designs of wafer thin wood veneer painted white enamel and fastened with glass beads with a flat surface where applied to the box. A knowledgable dealer believes this dates to the 1880's. Not surprisingly, there is wear, discoloration, several small cracks in the white decoration and some small bits have broken off over the decades. Please take some care to study all the photos using the scroll bar and magnifier. Approximate dimensions: 8 1/2", 5 1/2", 5 1/4" high. There is NO key. Sold "as is". Thanks for your interest.
