Incredible gold craftmanship in this beautiful old 13mm genuine Smokey Quartz set in very ornate & substantial marked 14K Gold. The stone tests 7 Mohs hardness. The face of the ring measures 21.5mm and is 10.7mm deep with a total ring weight of 7.2 grams. As you can see from the pix, the stone has definite inclusions and surface wear. The cut is very interesting, with the base having extra facets like you would see on a Zircon. Very beautiful! The size measures 17.67 diameter, a size 7 1/2 US/P UK. This item is part of a large Canadian Estate. Items date from late 1700's to mid 1900's. The Estate owner was an experienced antique collector with an exceptional eye for fine and rare items. Please consider insuring your purchase, most cannot be replaced! We cannot be responsible for lost items, so please insure your piece! Check the USPS website for current insurance price list. I am not a jeweler or a gemologist. All stones are tested to determine they are genuine with an electronic Presidium Gem Tester. It can show they are genuine, but does not give me creation. Some pieces are clearly mined gems, but without an appraisal on each piece (which would make the items far to costly to sell on Ebay), I can only give you all the information I have so you can make an informed decision.
