The Victorian Period is famous for its very rare & elegant hard to find timeless designs!Signet rings were used during the Victorian and early Art Deco Era as a luxurious way to mark your letters. Normally Signets would simply be attached to a knob of wood, however if you had the money you could simply make a beautiful solid gold ring as your signet that you had on you at all times.The PieceThe Sardonyx in this piece is beautifully carved into a oval shape and features a stunningly smooth polished surface. The Sardonyx features a thin layer of white on top that is beautifully carved out into its previous owners signet, allowing you to see the black on the bottom!The gold work in this gorgeous ring would of been completely hand carved by a team of talented Victorian jewelers. The design is made with heavy yellow gold work and includes a gorgeous closed back setting that rises up very high off of the gold work. Surrounding the setting there are beautiful carved designs that give the ring a gorgeous style.There is a small sizing adjuster on the bottom of the ring, if you wish this can be easily removed.Antique and Vintage jewelry is disappearing at alarming rates.
