Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! I have a Pair of Antique Civil War or Earlier Spectacles up for sale or auction. According to what I read these may be from before the Civil War. Around the late 1850's. No, they did not come from an estate sale!!!! My friend and I went to an old RR track that had not been used for about 50+ years. He talked me into doing some metal detecting with him and these are a pair of spectacles that I found after digging about 3 feet deep. They are completely in tact but have what looks like some patina as everyone calls it. I call it rust. These specs are made of either pot metal or what they call Roman steel. The magnet picks them up. The lenses look in good shape except for a couple of scratches on one. They are a flat glass and the temples are a little bent and t You should be able to see that on the pictures. My feedback speaks for itself. Buy with confidence. Please leave feedback, we all need a track record for our buyers. I figured that these spectacles had to be very old. Could it be possible that they are from the Civil War or even from an earlier time? The lenses are oval and the size of the spectacles are 1 7/16" wide and 1 1/8" high.
