AntiqueVintage DUTCH Meerschaum AMBER AMSTERDAM Sebastopol Cheroot Holder Pipe. Pipe is 7” long (17cm). A FANTASTIC Meerschaum Cheroot pipe carved in the classic Sebastopol style and LOADED with CHUNKS of Butterscotch colored Amber. The pipe is immaculate and has only been used a few times by its Antique Owner. The Meerschaum itself has been barely handled and has that creamy, vanilla colored patina which only comes after a century of patination and careful handling of this RARE Cheroot Holder! Everything on this cheroot holder is made of the most premium quality Butterscotch Amber – the solid Amber cheroot holder, the solid Amber drain plug, and the long elegant solid Amber mouthpiece has antique bone pipe connector. The pipe dates to circa 1890 (1880-1900) and has a stamp from a pipemaker in Amsterdam, the only one I have ever owned or offered – there are after all only 3 Pipemakers listed in the book!!! A truly RARE find!!! An example of a Sebastopol pipe is on page 138 of “Collecting Antique Meerschaum Pipes” by Ben Rapaport. What an awesome cheroot holder pipe that is in EXCELLENT CONDITION has NO chips, cracks, or hairlines! The pipe case has natural surface wear from 125+ years of handling and a small piece is absent at the top hinge juncture but does not effect opening and closing, and is not visible either when on display. read more
